The challenge of IOT

To many people know that the phrase “Internet of Things” by consumer gadgets like wearable fitness monitors, Google Glass or maybe even self-driving cars. But some of the most exciting and practical applications are happening in the Internet Of Things (IOT): The smart agriculture, smart cities, smart factories and the smart grid.

That said, the IOT bring with it tremendous amounts of complexity.  To tackle that complexity , organizations must keep in mind following points:

  1. Connectivity                                                                                                                                                                       First thing that IoT start with is Internet. In some areas of world, now also the Technological Standardization is major issue. Variety of wired and wireless connectivity are required to enable different application needs.
As , IoT has vast number of connected systems that communicate and coordinate their data analytics and actions to improve performance and efficiency and reduce or eliminate downtime.                                            “Both include connecting devices and systems all across the globe, but the IoT require local networks for latency, determinism and bandwidth”, the National Instruments(NI) reports.
  2. Sensing a complex environments                                                                                                                  Adopting Internet of Things will require a change in the way organizations design and augment their industrial systems. IOT systems must be adaptive and scalable through software or added functionality that deals with the overall solution.                                                                                                                                                             IOT application should be tested in extreme situation also such as outer space, very hot or cold area. So, that it works properly in complex situation also.
  3. Privacy and Security
Security is also a key issue in IoT. IoT applications can be built on tens of thousands of sensor nodes, increasing your threat surface area by orders of magnitude.
AS IoT systems comes with online network, these systems need to communicate with each other and with the enterprise, often over vast distances. Both the systems and the communications need to be secure, and many uses millions of dollars for making their system risk free and secure.
  4. Iot is complex                                                                                                                                                                  Iot is combination of network and system, it includes both device and software. As maintenance and update of device on regular basis is also necessary. Systems need to be continually modified and maintained to meet future changing requirements. So, IoT require expert application developer for it.
  5. Power Consumption                                                                                                                                                 Power consumption is also one of the challenge that IoT application developer face.                                               As for example, many IoT applications need to be run for years over batteries and reduce the overall energy consumption.
  6. Cloud is important
IoT applications require end-to-end  solutions  including cloud services.
