  1. Humming bird: 

Humming bird algorithm is not a new algorithm lunched by the google. Its an old bird introduce in September 2016. Just Google comes with updates to make the algorithm more workable.Google has given name “humming bird” for its “precise and fast”to better focus on the meaning behind the words.

  • Original and engaging content is still king
  • Legitimate back links that are earned using proper SEO are still important
  • The same signals that worked before will continue to garner results
  • Keywords will still need to be carefully placed and used in moderation

Search engines always want user to get there results in shorter time and in a appropriate way.  We can say that search engine is only web property which wants user to have fast and relevant result.

In general, Hummingbird — Google says — is a new engine built on both existing and new parts, organized in a way to especially serve the search demands of today, rather than one created for the needs of ten years ago, with the technologies back then.

The Hummingbird is what Google is calling the latest (greatest?) algorithm that they slipped in under our radar in August. If the rumors are true, the Hummingbird will take a search engine query using long-tailed keywords and try to decipher the context of the question rather than chase the specific keywords within the question.

 2. Google Panda :

Google panda is mainly used to checkout the high-content of the websites.  Google Panda updates are mainly focused on ensuring low quality and poor content websites are pushed down in the Search result so that higher quality sites can receive priority opportunity.

Simply put, as a Google spokesperson told us, “Panda is an algorithm that’s applied to sites overall and has become one of our core ranking signals. Panda allows Google to take quality into account and adjust ranking accordingly.”

The google Panda is a part of google’s continual efforts to elevate high-quality sites and web-pages to the top of the organic search results from lowering, or penalizing, the rank of lower-quality or “thin” websites and pages, particularly those sites that display a large amount of advertising without much in terms of high-quality content.

While Google has reportedly been developing “next-generation” Panda evolution that “soften” the algorithm to help small businesses and other web sites that have been significantly impacted by the Panda algorithm updates, the Panda 4.0 Update certainly does not fall in that category. The Panda 4.0 update has shown to be more of a major update that provided a heavyweight impact on numerous companies and their web sites. 

3. Google Penguin :

Google has announced the first Penguin update in April 2012, and the search company estimated it affected 3% of all English-language web sites. Google doesn’t always announce changes for Penguin, but there have been at least five Google Penguin updates, including a major update, Penguin 2.0, in May 2013 and the most recent, Penguin 2.1, later that year in October.

The Google Penguin updates try to prevent various types of search engine spam (also known as Spam indexing or Black Hat SEO) from being successfully rewarded a higher place in search engine results. Search engine spam can include activities such as keyword stuffing, link spamming, the use of invisible text on web page, duplication of copyrighted content from high-ranking web sites and more.

When a new Penguin Update is released, sites that have taken action to remove bad links (such as through the Google disavow links tool) or remove spam to regain rankings. New sites not previously caught might get trapped by Penguin. “False positives,” sites that were caught by mistake, may escape.

Google specifically mentions that doorway pages, which are only built to attract search engine traffic, are against their webmaster guidelines.

4. Google pigeon :

Google Pigeon is the name given to one of Google’s local search algorithm updates. This update was released on July 24, 2014. The update is aimed to increase the ranking of local listing in a search.   The Algorithm Affects Search Results Within Both Google Maps Search & Google Web Search.

Searching Google and searching Google Maps has often provided a very different set of results.According to Search Engine Land, “Google said that this new algorithm improves their distance and location ranking parameters.” While it’s not totally clear what the “distance and location ranking parameters” are, it seems likely that increased specificity will affect dense neighborhoods, also known as “informal space.”

5. Google payday update :

Launched on June 11, 2013 – the “Payday Update” was a new algorithm targeted at cleaning up search results for traditionally “spammy queries” such as [payday loan], pornographic and other heavily spammed queries.This Google Update done specially for removing the “spammy queries” such as [payday loan], pornographic and other heavily spammed queries.

6. Google pirate update :

Google’s private Update is introduced in August 2012 designed to prevent sites with having many copyright violation reports, as filed through Google’s DMCA system, from ranking well in google’s listings. The filter is periodically updated. When this happens, sites previously impacted may escape, if they’ve made the right improvements. The filter may also catch the sites that escaped being caught before, plus it may release “false positives” that were caught.

7. Google Top heavy update :

Top Heavy was launched in January 2012 by Google as a means to prevent sites that were “top heavy” with ads from ranking well in its listings. Top Heavy is periodically updated. When a fresh Top Heavy Update happens, sites that have removed excessive ads may regain lost rankings. New sites deemed too “top heavy” may get caught.
